第一空挺団,降下訓練始め : On January 8, JGSDF 1st Airborne Bridge conducted New Year’s Jump 2023.
The event is conducted every year in order to pray for the safety of the members’ annual jumping and advertise JGSDF’s activities by displaying parachute drop.

U.S. Air Force Col. Andrew Roddan (2nd right), 374th Airlift Wing commander, breaks open a barrel of sake alongside multilateral leadership from the U.S, Japan, Australia and the U.K. at the annual New Year’s Jump exercise at the Camp Narashino Training Area, Chiba, Japan, Jan. 8, 2023. “Kagami-Biraki” is the Japanese tradition of breaking open a sake barrel with a wooden mallet and sharing with attendees at celebratory events to promote harmony and good fortune. The annual New Year’s jump event highlights the continued commitment of the U.S. and Japan allies to strengthening bilateral capabilities, enhancing interoperability and cooperation between two militaries.
