This recipe is a tribute to the culinary tradition of Germany, adapted to modern cuisine to improve taste and accessibility. A delicious apple pie, similar to one that existed hundreds of years ago. A quick and easy recipe for delicious apple pie. This cake with apples is just so delicious and tasty! This traditional pastry was baked by my grandmother back then, she wrote it down in her cookbook, which she passed on to me.

📋 INGREDIENTS:
For the yeast dough:
• 500 g flour (about 4 cups)
• 20 g fresh yeast (0.7 ounces)
• 250 ml milk, lukewarm (about 1 cup)
• 50 g sugar (about ¼ cup)
• 1 pinch of salt
• 75 g butter (about ⅓ cup)
• 1 egg

For the filling:
• 6-8 small apples, firm variety
• Lemon juice
• 100 g marzipan or cream cheese (about ½ cup)
• 50 g chopped walnuts or almonds (about ½ cup)
• 50 g raisins or dried cranberries (approx. ½ cup)
• 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon

For sprinkling:
• 100 g sugar (approx. ½ cup)
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Baking: Bake at 160°C (approx. 320°F) for approx. 45-50 minutes until the dough is golden brown.
