Crash Course VGM Fusion Band dropping the funk bomb on this tune! 💣

I just started a jazz fusion band to play VGM standards with me and oh boy oh boy, do we sound sooooo freaking tight!!!

This initially started as an idea because I was so amazed on how insaneintherainmusic handled the Sinnoh Fusion Ensemble and how they realized the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl soundtrack in its best form, this really inspired me to start my own band!

I really liked the tightness of the rhythm section since we complimented pretty well as if we are playing together live. AND THE HORNS, OH MY GOD THE HORNS IS SOOOOOO TIGHT!!! I am really really proud of our sound and we hope to produce more bangers in the next songs!

Now arranging this song can be defenitely tricky because this one is a classic and we defenitely heard a variety of versions of this song. I was listening to Jackson 5's music lately and you may or may not get the reference in the intro part. 😉

In arranging perspective, I went with a jazz-funk vibe and I really wanted a "gospel" sound so I went ahead and add some gospel reharm in there. Chord progressions like the I - I7 - IV - IVm6 can really give it that "classic gospel sound" especially when you have that played by an organ!
