How to help the "dead" people that aren't among us any longer (translation from the video 45:19):

1. Memorial service for the departed with forty (40) consecutive Divine Liturgies during the presentation of the Holy Gifts.

2. Individual prayer of duration and repetitions equivalent to the knots carried by each one, in memory of the departed (or for the health of the living). It can be performed anywhere, regardless of place and time, either aloud or with silent speech. Typically done with 33/50/100/300 knots.

2a. Names of the living and departed. Recording the names in the nominative case (John, Helen, Nicholas, etc.) in combination with placement on paper in vertical lists rather than horizontally as we usually write, greatly facilitates faster and more relaxed reading. The list of the departed will be distinguished by bearing a cross at the beginning, without additional explanations.

3. Memorial services for the departed (kollyva). The offering of boiled wheat combined with additional ingredients (nuts, sugar, cinnamon, raisins, etc.) to the Lord Jesus Christ (under His icon in the sanctuary), in order to repose the souls of those whose names are read by the priest. It is performed at the end of the Divine Liturgy.

4. Charity assistance for the departed soul by living relatives and friends, through some work/task, material (e.g., food), or money.
