Language: German, Swabian (German dialect in Hungary)
Translation:
Shoemaker Stephen, who comes from the region of Backa, married a girl from the region of Branau. He wanted a big wedding, like people are used to in Backa. The priest asked him what that should look like. Shoemaker Stephen said that all the candles, all the lights should burn and all the carpets should be rolled out. In return he would make one pair of new slippers for the priest. Everything went according to plan and shoemaker Stephen had a marvelous wedding party. But because Stephen did not keep his promise after the wedding, the priest looked for him every time after the holy mass, but he was never in church. After a while people told the priest that he should look for Stephen in the pub. That is what happened and the priest waited in front of the pub until Stephen showed up. Stephen asked if the priest could not reverse the whole marriage and all: if he would do that, shoemaker Stephen would then give him two pairs of slippers.
