OK! This piece is a bit outside my norm BUT it’s pivotal in my journey because I got to try a new product!
I used Annie Sloan Scandinavian Pink on the base. I’ve never used this paint before but have had it sitting here for months just itching to try it.
Honest review: I found it crazy thick, which I can see a great artistic use for. But considering I was going for a clean, solid color finish it was hard to stir, even when water was added to it. I have carpal tunnel so my hands were pretty achy after stirring for so long. It seemed to want to separate after sitting for minimal time so I had to work fast. Even with a lot of water added it sprayed on thick and in an orange peel-like texture. It self leveled AMAZINGLY and felt smoother to touch than some other chalk based paints. It has excellent hide. I had complete coverage in one coat. After two coats of top coat it was velvety smooth, rather than needing many more because of thirsty paint. I can tell by the way it’s curing it will be durable and long lasting. In conclusion, I would use it again but not for this type of finish. I can see enjoying it for my typical layered/stippled style but for solid finishes I prefer my enamel paints.
Because I love @woodubendmouldings4330 , I also want to note the appliqués added to the bottom drawer. The original filigree was falling apart so I removed it and added the following WUBs:
👉🏽 Nailhead Trim (TR721)
👉🏽 Corners 2443
