Fall and winter water care tips for your trees/plants. Water your trees and plants 2-3 times per week in the fall and 1 once per week in the winter. Las Vegas Water law in Las Vegas is you can only use water irrigation 1 time per week in the Winter. You can hand water plants twice a week if you need to.
I water my trees and plants for 1 hour in the Summer, and 30 minutes in fall and winter. Please remember those irrigation drippers are gallons per hour, so make sure you do the math if you're only watering for 30 minutes. Make sure you use fertilizer on your trees and plants at least once every 2 months. Fertilize your trees and plants at the beginning of fall so you can prepare your trees and plants to become strong for the winter season. The best time to purchase a tree and plant it is in the fall because it has a better chance of surviving vs. the summertime to avoid transplant shock. Please remember that most trees bought from store 🌳 are in a 15-gallon pot or 24-inch box. A 15-gallon pot tree will get about 7 gallons of water per day. 15 gallons ÷ 2 = 7 1/2 gallons of water. Drought-tolerant plants and desert plants follow a less water procedure, so always make sure you look up what kind of plant you have. Many Cactus, Succulents, plants go dormancy in the fall and winter and is important not too water them because they will get root rot, so look up your plant or tree to see if it goes into dormancy. Most drought tolerant plants just get 1/2 gallon once per week. Please remember, watering for summertime is totally different, so please see my other video for summertime. Small tiny shrubs that are bought in a tiny pot will only get 1/4 of a gallon of water, and only rewater when the soil is dry to prevent root rot for these tiny shrubs Goodluck protecting your investment plants and trees by watering your tree correctly.
