Theme: In this dance we are using Mattahs. This means rod or staff in Hebrew. Each dancer has a pole that has a theme and name tag on the pole representing different facets of our Lord's character. In the scriptures the staff was used as a walking stick. It was also used to denote authority of a household or tribe. The Mattahs that we are using in this piece become an extension of our passion for the Lord. They become an instrument of proclamation in our hands as we offer up our praises to His name.
