3-02-1994. Halfime interview with Francis Dayle "Chick" Hearn and Scottie Maurice Pippen. Chick was the creator of most of the terminology that announcers have been using for decades. They stole most of them from Chick. He coined phrases like slam dunk, airball, frozen rope, finger roll, and he was the first to estimate distances on jumpshots like "shoots a 20 footer", which other announcers in the 60s used to make fun of. He coined the term "no harm, no foul" which is used in normal speak all the time. I hear it and "slam dunk" as in "It's a slam dunk," and "ticky tack" (meanly cheap or lousy foul/decision) all the time. Those are Chickisms. Chick was one of the very greatest sports broadcasters of all time, he did everything from basketball, to college hoops, to football, to boxing (he narrated The Rumble In The Jungle), and even bowling ("he found/made his arch" is a bowling term he often used), and he was the radio news voice on Gilligan's Island in the late 60s. When he died, his vigils on the street were attended by black, white, Latino, Asian, etc, he brought LA together.

Scott Pippen was one of the greatest SFs and all around defenders of all time. Had the quintessential SF frame and physique and huge hands and wingspan. If he weren't Jordan's #2 for most of his career, he would've won a lot less, but he would be more recognized than he even is now for how great a player he was. Only halftime interview on the Lakers' then-road game channel between Chick and Scott Pippen that I can remember, I think it's probably the only one, tbh.
