I've been giving thought to the control elements of my magnum opus, and my ambition to have the whole thing be interactive. Should this model end up being exhibited then I would like viewers to be able to control the trains and operate them in as railway-like a manner as possible.
Having recently worked out how the points and signals will be actuated, I have now turned my attention to their control and have spent time investigating how things were done of the real railway.
With a plan established, I have set about building the first of two lever frames which will mimic the signal boxes which existed at Bexhill West. Some viewers might think I'm getting ahead of myself, but I need to resolve issues such as mechanical interlocking and the wiring requirements such that I don't create problems for myself which will need fixing later.

In this episode (1 of 2), I build the basic lever frame. Next time I will complete the installation in order that I can connect the points to it as I progress with the rest of the build. This will enable me to test and approve things as I go along.
