A Generalized Dynamical System (GDS) is a mathematical framework pioneered in the 1950s-60s that has been extensively researched and leveraged by Dr. Michael Zargham and Dr. Jamsheed Shorish at BlockScience for applications in the emerging area of enforceable contracts, such as may be found in Token Engineering.

The GDS framework provides a ‘template’ for dynamical systems whose states are influenced by decision-making, building upon control theory. The approach emphasizes the impact of feasibility and admissibility of actions on solution trajectories, instead of relying upon fixed (and potentially restrictive) assumptions about the behavior(s) of decision-makers.

More advanced examples of a GDS framework may be found in e.g. Zargham, Shorish and Krzysztof Paruch’s 2020 work on “Economic Games as Estimators” :

The framework’s formalization is to be provided in a forthcoming paper by Zargham and Shorish. To learn more, you can also watch this session on GDS from the OMNIPool Engineering and Simulations Open Science Research Collaboration with BlockScience, the Token Engineering Academy, and HydraDX:
