So, after I spilled my coffee all over the center console (after my wife put it right into the perfect spot for me to knock over), I come to find out that she also spilled her coffee all over the center console on a separate occasion a few days prior and now the shifter is stuck in Park.

After taking the center console apart and looking inside for clear signs of what can be done, I discovered a little piece of plastic that seemed to be the cause of all my shifting problems. After spraying it with some WD40, I tested it and it seemed to help out a lot, that is, my wife was able to drive her truck again. Even though this doesn’t seem like a permanent solution, it does get the truck out of Park and makes it drivable, so I thought I’d share it with you. BTW, this can also affect any other Ford, like Expedition, Explorer & Edge, as well as most likely any other American vehicle like your Cadillac, GMC and Chevy...
