Dive into the rich and vibrant world of Latin Jazz with Sacbé's captivating album "Dos Mundos." Released in 1988, this album is a masterpiece that merges the sophisticated rhythms of jazz with the soulful essence of Latin American music. "Dos Mundos" showcases the exceptional talents of the Toussaint brothers—Eugenio on keyboards, Enrique on bass, and Fernando on drums—along with the versatile Jon Crosse on saxophone and flute.

In 1986, after leaving the Paul Anka orchestra, Eugenio Toussaint returned to Mexico City and, with recording engineer Luis Gil, started a recording studio. This new venture provided the perfect opportunity to record "Dos Mundos," utilizing cutting-edge technology such as MIDI, sequencers, and new synthesizers. The album features compositions by all band members, reflecting their individual artistry and collective synergy.

The album's journey begins with "Mozambique," a track that immediately draws you into its rhythmic complexity and melodic beauty. "Julian" and "Xel-Ha" continue this exploration, blending traditional Latin motifs with modern jazz elements. Each track on the album tells a unique story, from the whimsical "Dalí" to the introspective "Soledad Compartida." Despite its initial poor distribution in Mexico, "Dos Mundos" found its way to international audiences through Albert Marx of Discovery Trend, marking a significant milestone as the first Sacbé recording to be released on compact disc.

Sacbé's legacy in the jazz world is profound, representing a fusion of cultures and musical traditions. "Dos Mundos" stands as a testament to their innovative spirit and dedication to creating a distinct Mexican jazz identity. This album, the last with Jon Crosse on reeds, remains a timeless piece that continues to inspire and captivate listeners around the world.
