At an elevation of 7000 feet above sea level, Lungchok is a scenic valley in Sikkim just about 10 km driving distance away from Rongli. This newly-found tourist destination is popular for offering a magnificent view of Kanchanjunga, a tranquil atmosphere, blooming Himalayan flowers, and the beautiful surrounding hills covered with lush greenery. It is also a bird-watching paradise and an ideal base for travelers those who are planning for their journey to some high altitude destinations such as Lungthung, Nathang Valley and more.

🔶Best Time To Visit : -

The season of summer is considered to be the best time to visit Lungchok Sikkim. From March to May, the weather remains quite pleasant and the beautiful Kanchenjunga stays visible as there are not much fogs. However, expect for the season of Monsoon, you can visit the village at any time of the year.

🏔️DISTANCE:-

The distance between Siliguri and Lungchok is approximately 85.9 km , and the road distance can be covered in 3 hr 3 min .

🔶 How to Reach

You can reach here directly from the airport, NJP, or by reserved car from Siliguri. Sikkim Government operated bus services and shared jeeps are available from SNT Bus Terminal in Siliguri to Rongli via Rhenock. Before travelling, please check bus timings and fares on Sikkim State Transport website (https://sntonline.sikkim.gov.in). Our experience with Sikkim State Transport while returning from Gangtok to Siliguri was very good. Travelers can also reach Lungchok from Rongli or Rangpo by a shared or reserved car. But we took a shortcut through the forest from Rolep to Lungchok which took about an hour in a reserved vehicle. All our transport arrangements(Rangpo→Rolep→Lungchok→Gangtok) were arranged by the owner of Rolep Tribal Homestay, which was really hassle free.
