World Athletics Championship 2022 Day 2 Preview

Day 2 of the 2022 World Athletics championship will see Caribbean athletes competing across 9 events.
On the women's side the Triple jump and High jump qualifying rounds will take place in the morning and on the men's side the Mornings competition will be completed by the 110mh heats and the 400m hurdle heats. The afternoon session will start with the women's 100m heats shot put final and 1500m semifinal while the caribbean male athletes will compete in the 100m semi finals Long jump final and the men 100m final will close the curtains.

Women triple jump
Jamaicans Ackelia SMITH and Shanieka RICKETTS will attempt to qualify from flight 1. Other Caribbean Athletes in flight 1 are Cuban Leyanis PÉREZ HERNÁNDEZ and Thea LAFOND of Dominica. From flight 2 Kimberly WILLIAMS Jamaica, Ana Lucia JOSE TIMA of the Dominican republic and the Cuban pair of Liadagmis POVEA & Davisleydi VELAZCO are all seeking to qualify.
In the Women's High Jump the Jamaican Pair of Lamara DISTIN and Kimberly WILLIAMSON are the lone Caribbean competitors. They will compete in flights 1 & 2 respectively.

Men's 110m hurdles.
Three Jamaicans Rasheed BROADBELL heat 1, Orlando bennett heat 3 and hansel Parchment heat 4 will be in action in the men's 110m hurdle. Bennette will be joined by camanian Rasheem BROWN in his heat.

400mh
The 400m hurdle closes off the morning session with 4 caribbean athletes competing. Kemar MOWATT of Jamaica in heat 2, Jamaican Jaheel HYDE joined by Juander SANTOS of the Dominican Republic in HEat 3. Shawn Rowe of Jamaica and Kyron MCMASTER of the British Virgin Islands will compete in heats 4 and respectfully.

Session 2

Women 100m heats
Jamaican Shericka JACKSON and Bahamian Anthonique STRACHAN are both expected to qualify easily from heat 1. Shelly-Ann FRASER-PRYCE should be unmatched in heat 2. Bahamian TyNia GAITHER also is listed in heat two but may find it difficult to qualify for the net round. Elaine THOMPSON-HERAH is the lone Caribbean competitor on heat 3. Collegiate rivals Kembah nelson Jamaica and Julian Alfred St Lucia will be the favorites to qualify from heats 4 and 5 respectively. In heat 6 Michelle-Lee AHYE of trinidad and tobago and Jasmine ABRAMS of Guyana will be battling for places.

Me 100m Semifinal
Jamaican Yohan Blake is favored to advance to the final from heat 1. Akeem Blake also has a reasonable chance of making it through from semifinal 2 as does Oblique Seville from Semifinal 3.
Long Jump.
Jamaican Wayne Pinnok and Cuban Maykel MASSÓ are the only Caribbean nationals into the Men's Long Jump final but Its unlikely that either of them will make the top 8.

WOmen Shot put
Jamaican Danniel THOMAS-DODD is int othe final and could make it into the top 8.

Women 1500m
Adelle TRACEY of Jamaica will find it difficult to get an automatic qualifying spot through to the finals but has an excellent chance of making it through still as one of the fastest losers.
