In this video, our volunteer Fabio Malaspina shows you how to tie the "Black Nose Dace” streamer fly. This is a fly that you can use to target trout, steelhead, salmon, panfish and bass. This fly imitates the Blacknose dace which are a small minnow species. This pattern was created by Art Flick and was introduced in 1947.

Materials list:

Threads: Size 70 or 140 denier black
Hook: Streamer hook 4x or 5x long. I used a Tiemco 5263, 3XL size 4 streamer hook.
Tail: Bright red floss, antron, polyarn, micro globug, or wool
Body: Silver mylar medium or large
Wing: White, black, and brown deer hair.
Optional: Stick-on holographic eyes to match hook size

Skill level: Easy
