In the wild males are looking for females walking all day long across vastness of steppes and mountain plateaus. Pallas's cats are polygynous which means that a male mating with several females during a particular mating season.

In a zoo keepers connect cages and allow male to visit females. In Novosibirsk zoo keepers keep in mind that Pallas's cats are polygynous and connect one male with several females. During breeding season males protect their females even from keepers who bring food.
