Silverado-Sierra ,Automatic Transmission Shifter Cable Replace. If you are having issues shifting in or out of park or L ,your shifter cable may be getting bad.On Silverado-Sierra trucks the automatic shifter cable comes up through the floor and is under the carpet on the drivers side.Because the drivers feet is always on the cable they seem to go bad a lot on Silverado-Sierra trucks. Tried to instal a aftermarket ,Automatic Shifter Cable on this Silverado-Sierra truck but could not get the truck to shift in to low gear. I needed to have this Silverado-Sierra going again so I used the bottom half of the original shift cable. The hardest part is getting the shifter cable through the wire retainer ,that is over the steering column near the firewall. It is not to bad of a job to do but just make sure to remember how the shifter cable is routed before removing the old one. I will use only AC Delco Automatic Shifter Cables for Silverado-Sierra trucks from now on.
