Perhaps one of the most unheralded gymnasts of the 70s, Tamara Lazakovich was the 1971 European all-around co-champion. She also won bars and beam at that meet.
Here she is showcasing her beautiful expression during the 1972 Munich Olympics during floor finals, where she won the bronze medal 🥉.

The simplicity of live piano and lack of tricks made it much harder for gymnasts to capture the engagement of an audience, yet I find Tamara to be incredibly enthralling 😍.

Sadly, Tamara would struggle with alcoholism after her sports career and passed away in 1992 aged 38 😢.
