RMI launched its Aluminum GHG Emissions Reporting Guidance at COP 28 in Dubai in December 2023. This guidance assists aluminium producers in showcasing their efforts toward decarbonisation and supports aluminium buyers in making well-informed business decisions through enhanced greenhouse gas emission transparency. RMI developed the guidance alongside key industry stakeholders consisting of suppliers, buyers, and industry associations participating in a technical working group, which convened regularly. In addition, feedback was provided by dozens of stakeholders through a public consultation process from June 1st to July 28th, 2023.

This webinar, jointly organised by RMI and ASI gives and overview of the key responses provided during the public consultation along with a nuanced understanding of the updates incorporated into the guidance. The webinar provided a platform for open dialogue among key industry stakeholders, facilitating discussions on practical use cases of the guidance in driving the broader agenda of industry decarbonisation.

This session provides:

• an understanding of the key principles of RMI’s Aluminum GHG Emissions Guidance.
• an overview of the public consultation process and how feedback was incorporated into the final version of the guidance.
• insights into forthcoming work and outline avenues through which industry stakeholders can actively contribute.

The webinar features RMI experts Nicole Labutong (Principal), Wenjuan Liu (Manager), and Sravan Chalasani (Senior Associate) and is moderated by Chris Bayliss, ASI Decarbonisation Adviser.
