Anyone who has driven a pre-1990 Mercedes-Benz will attest to the brilliant build quality, over-engineered in almost every respect. Mercedes always had a brilliant reputation, but with the introduction of the "Cheap" 190E, many believed the company was looking to a more everyday consumer market - and that quality would drop. The 'Baby Benz' did manange to bring the prestigious marque within the purchasing reach of many, but it was not short on quality, and their longevity on the roads for decades to come stands at testimony that you can build something offering both affordability and uncompromising quality.

This video is cobbled togther from a few old marketing VHS tapes we have and, while the quality is not the best, it does not tarnish the beautiful lines of these wonderful mid-1980s Mercedes models.
