Welcome and good to see you. I thought I would do something different with this video of the sky looking to the west from Mauna Kea Subaru Telescope. I began capturing the live HD streaming about 30 minutes prior to the sunset and only captured 3 good hours of feed. Beautiful blue sky (reminded me of what I see here in the higher elevations of the interior Southern California mountainous terrain which I get very bored of the same clear sky - I like storminess, with a good balance.)

You get to see the multiple telescopes get ready to photograph the western sky as the Sun begins to entire twilight and employees exiting the dormant 13 thousand plus foot volcano and most likely heading home. I usually look at the live feed around midnight (plus or minus a couple hours at times.) This was very different as you will see. 3 hours of capture sped-up 8 times yields a video approximately 30 minutes in length.

Soon after the sun enters twilight the stars appear in a darkening, deep blue sky and then dozens and dozens of satellites zip across the sky and occasionally streaks of a meteorite and numerous bolides, which have some color and brightness to them and two explode before their trail vanishes. There was no Moonlight to interfere with the blackness of being in the center of the Pacific Ocean. I can ONLY dream and imagine of what their night sky looks like with my own eyes. I know that in itself I could easily fall in love with nightly!

Even when there are no official meteor showers taking place, seems like there are always meteor showers going on over the Islands of Hawaii. ENJOY your day and the video. I welcome any and all comments, suggestions or what ever. Until we meet again. Good day to you. :-)
