3 MODS UNDER $50 for 2nd Gen Cummins. Hope you enjoy this video where I share 3 mods that I feel are good little starter mods for a 2nd Gen 24 Valve Cummins owner who wants to get some things for their truck and may not be ready to spend on some of the bigger ticket items like a lift pump, exhaust, gauges, etc,,, The first mod is a Big Honkin Air Filter or BHAF, For less than $50 you can get rid of your stock air box and let your 24 valve Cummins breathe a little bit better and get better air supply with the Big Honkin Air Filter. The second mod is the BD Diesel APPS noise isolator. The BD Diesel APPS noise isolator helps to clear up interference and noise from the APPS (accelerator pedal position sensor) and it helps to fix your transmission from hunting in and out of overdrive, If your 47RE transmission hunts in and out of overdrive, then you're getting noise from the APPS sensor and should get the BD Diesel noise isolator for $30 and not worry about it anymore. Its a good idea to just put it on your 24 valve Cummins whether your 47RE transmission hunts in and out of overdrive or not. The last mod under $50 is a big line fuel kit which will supply better fuel flow between the fuel filter housing and the vp44 injection pump. The big line fuel kit is meant to compliment a aftermarket lift pump like a fass 150 or an airdog and do away with the little stock fuel line to free up restrictions and allow for better fuel flow to the vp44 injection pump to help keep it lubricated and cool. Even if you don't have a lift pump yet and are working on getting one, it can't hurt to install the big line kit on the 24 valve Cummins and help the vp44 injection pump to have a better life span. A bonus mod under $50 is a set of LED headlights from auxbeam. I have the f16 LED headlights from auxbeam on my 24 valve Cummins and they light up the back country roads like daylight and make my visibility so much better than the stock headlights on these 2nd gen 24 valves.
