Got out with my buddy Jason on Saturday and had a really nice day.

When we first got there I was a little worried we were going to have too high of water. It was moving pretty fast and a bit higher than I expected but once we got past one of the larger tributaries and the bottom got sandy the conditions got significantly better.

The first hour we only had a few bites and then later morning things picked up. Early on too there were LOTS of short strikes and even the ones we had on weren't making it to the next before getting off. I didn't seem to matter what color we tried either. They hit everything once the bite started.

August has been a hard month for me in years past but either my technique is improving or the fish are just hungrier. Or it could be I'm working harder at getting to the hard to get to locations where the fish haven't been educated all summer.
