In 19th century Istanbul,
Ottoman-Armenian musician Hampartsoum developed a new music notation system, with which numerous works were documented and survived to this day. Many have been transcribed, and many are waiting to be unveiled. In this concert, works from these manuscripts have been performed upon their recent study
and transcription.
