How to cook Red Beans and Rice

1 lb bag of Camellia red kidney beans

1 whole bell pepper chopped

1/2 yellow onion chopped

3-4 TB sea salt

3 TB black pepper

1-2 TB sugar

3 TB onion powder

3 TB garlic powder

2 TB smoked paprika

2 TB red pepper flakes

3-4 Bay leaves

2 TB beef bouillon seasoning

2TB of Tony Chacheres seasoning

1 stick of butter about an hour before beans are
done

I pack of andouille sausage or smoked pork hocks “remember you can always use both”!
6 cups of water, until beans are covered

Soak beans over night before cooking them if possible. If you don’t have the time you can soak them an hour. Rinse them after soaking at least two times before seasoning and cooking them!!

Cooking time in a crockpot is about 6-8 hours
