This song is one of the most representative Korean traditional pop songs that was very popular in about 15-20 years ago. This is a unique genre, called Trot 트로트, that Koreans love very much. You can watch in this video another example: ‘Oh my’ by Jang Yoonjeong.

These days, there is even an American professional trot singer, who sings in Korean, in this Korean traditional style. Her name is Maria. You can see her in this video.
