We are absolutely stoked to introduce to you a band from the land down under, Sons Of The East.
On their third North American Tour, and their fist time visiting Houston, TX, we were incredibly lucky to convince these Aussies to come by and share their tunes with us. With gritty vocal harmonies and memorable melodies the indie folk band blew us away with this session. If you get the chance, catch them live next time there in the states. Sons of the East is an Australian indie folk trio hailing from Sydney, formed in 2011 by Nic Johnston, Dan Wallage, and Jack Rollins. Their music blends classic folk and country blues influences with modern indie sensibilities, creating a distinct sound marked by soulful melodies, rich harmonies, and dynamic instrumentation that includes keys, guitar, and banjo. The band is known for their engaging live performances, which have helped them build a dedicated global fanbase.

Over the years, Sons of the East has released several EPs, with their self-titled debut in 2013, followed by “Already Gone” in 2015, and “Burn Right Through” in 2019. They have garnered over 300 million streams and 60 million YouTube views, and have sold out numerous shows across Australia, Europe, and North America. Despite their growing success, they have remained an independent band, staying true to their roots and artistic vision.

In 2022, they released their debut full-length album, “Palomar Parade”, which showcases their signature blend of folk and country elements with introspective lyrics that explore the complexities of everyday life. The album received positive reviews and was accompanied by an extensive world tour, further solidifying their reputation as one of the most exciting and authentic acts in the indie-folk genre.

Sons of the East's music resonates with a timeless quality, drawing comparisons to legendary artists like Bob Dylan and Neil Young, yet they manage to infuse their work with a modern energy that sets them apart. Their ability to connect with audiences through both recorded music and live performances has made them a standout in the indie music scene.
