If you own a camper chances are you have had something break on you on the road! So it is important to be prepared. As we have had our GeoPro for almost 5 years now, small things have started breaking. So we spent some time and walked around the camper to determine what could break and was it something we wanted to carry a spare part for? And we judged it against three criteria.

1. Would it be a part that was difficult to get on the road and would it impact our trip? Even if it was something we could buy at a large RV store or hardware store, if it passed the second and third criteria, we added it to the list. We don't want to spend our camping time driving to stores to hunt down a part
2. Is it inexpensive? This was a big factor. Most of these parts are under $10
3. How much room does it take up? Everything had to fit in a small box.

And these are the items we carry. The nice thing is, even if we never need to fix them on the GeoPro, many manufacturers use the same parts - so we can take them with us to our next camper. Now we probably missed a few items and if there are items you recommend we look at carrying - please leave them in the comments!

The Parts List

Sewer Hose Carrier Cover - this one did break on us during a trip. And while solved with duct tape until we got home - we bought two and now carry one extra just in case. (we apologize - mispoke in the video. They don't come in packs of two - we bought two to have a spare!) This is where we bought just the doors from.

Propane Heater Parts - our heater is a suburban. We double checked our model against the parts list and went on a search for the two parts we found break most often. This is where we found the parts at the best price. But always check your model for part numbers as they may have changed from availability issues during covid or a different year. And while we have these parts - we have not yet had to use them so can't speak to quality or how well they work.

Toilet Water Valve - our toilet is a Dometic 310. We bought this off brand replacement to carry as a spare as much less expensive than the Dometic OEM replacement. Luckily haven't had to replace yet but from the reviews, looks like this one will work fine if we need to.

Emergency BreakAway Cable - the is inexpensive part that could save your trip. Our original cable was frayed after a trip. Because of that, we always check it before and after a trip and carry an inexpensive spare just in case!
