Dr. Megan Clayton of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service discusses some techniques landowners can employ to evaluate the quality of wildlife habitat on their property and productivity of forage in their pastures and fields. Nest clump surveys, cover surveys, grass stubble height surveys, and forage surveys are demonstrated.

Find publications covering these techniques in more detail at essmextension.tamu.edu and wildlife.tamu.edu.

Funding support provided by a Clean Water Act grant through the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board and the Environmental Protection Agency.
