#Horrorprofanation adalah sebuah proyek diciptakan untuk mendaur ulang beberapa lagu dari tiga album DeadSquad, yaitu #HorrorVision, #Profanatik, dan #Tyranation.

Berawal dari ketidakpuasan Stevi Item yang berpendapat bahwa banyak musisi yang memiliki sıfat tidak pernah puas dalam hasil akhir dari penggarapan materi sebuah lagu, seperti ide-ide baru yang seringkali muncul setelah materi dirilis. Faktor tersebut menjadi trigger utama dalam memulai proyek ini.

Melalui jejaring sosial, Stevi Item mengajak #ErlendCaspersen, pemain bass dari #SpawnOfPossession, band technical death metal dari Sweden yang juga merupakan salah satu band yang berpengaruh besar untuk DeadSquad, untuk terlibat dalam mengawali proyek Horrorprofanation dengan mendaur ulang lagu #AnatomiDosa.

Stevi melakukan sedikit perubahan pada aransemen dan juga mempercepat tempo. Proyek ini dikerjakan juga dalam bentuk video untuk memvalidasi kontribusi Erland Caspersen.

Bagi Stevi, salah satu keistimewaan proyek ini terletak di perbedaan pada sentuhan, ’rasa’, dan juga improvisasi yang terjadi, yang akhirnya memperkaya aransemen lagu.

Proyek lintas benua ini juga membuktikan bahwa dalam penciptaan sebuah karya musik dengan menerapkan azas “sosial media tepat guna” dengan memanfaatkan teknologi terbaru, proses rekaman bisa berlangsung dimana saja; pemain bass di Finland, drummer di Rawamangun, dan gitaris di Bintaro.

Horrorprofanation is a project that was created for the purpose of recycling some songs from three of DeadSquad albums, Horror Vision, Profanatik & Tyranation.

The idea started when Stevi Item believes that there are a lot of musicians that are not satisfied with the aftermath of the process of music writing, such as new ideas that came up after the song was released. This factor became the main trigger to initiate this project.

Through social media, Stevi Item invited Erlend Caspersen, bass player of Spawn Of Possession, a technical death metal band from Sweden, which also happens to be one of the biggest influence for DeadSquad, to be involved at the start of Horrorprofanation project in recycling Anatomi Dosa (Anatomy of Sins).

Stevi did some changes on the music arrangement and speed up the tempo. This project is done in the form of video with the purpose to validate Erland Caspersen’s contribution.

For Stevi, the factors that distinguished this project lies on the differences of the touch, the feel, and also the improvisation that happened, which finally enriched the music arrangements.

This cross-continent project also proves that in the process of creating music, applying the principle of “appropriate use of social media” and utilizing the latest technology, recording process can be done anywhere.
