सत्तर साल पहले नीलमघाट के धनी ठाकुर का एक जिप्सी लड़की से प्रेम प्रसंग हुआ और फिर उसने दूसरी महिला से शादी कर ली। जिप्सी लड़की के पिता ने पूरे ठाकुर परिवार को श्राप दिया कि जब भी कोई पुरुष शादी करेगा, उसकी पत्नी की एक साल बाद रहस्यमय परिस्थितियों में मृत्यु हो जाएगी। वर्षों से यह अभिशाप सच हो गया है, और कोई भी ठाकुर इसके प्रकोप से बच नहीं पाया है। नवीनतम ठाकुर, प्रभात अब नीलमघाट में बसने आ गया है, और स्थानीय डॉक्टर की बेटी, संध्या गुप्ता से आकर्षित है। जब डॉ. गुप्ता शादी का प्रस्ताव रखते हैं, तो प्रभात उन्हें जिप्सी अभिशाप के बारे में बताता है, और दोनों पिता और बेटी इस पर उपहास करते हैं। एक रात वे तुरंत अपना मन बदल लेते हैं, जब वे पाते हैं कि प्रभात दूल्हे के वेश में एक पुनर्जन्म वाली जिप्सी लड़की से शादी करने के लिए तैयार हो रहा है।

Seventy years ago the wealthy Thakur of Neelamghat had an affair with a gypsy girl, and then married another woman. The gypsy girl's dad placed a curse on the entire Thakur family that whenever a male marries, his wife will die in mysterious circumstances after an year. The curse has come true over the years, and none of the Thakurs have escaped it's wrath. The latest Thakur, Prabhat has now come to settle in Neelamghat, and is attracted to the local doctor's daughter, Sandhya Gupta. When Dr. Gupta proposes marriage, Prabhat tells them about the gypsy curse, and both father and daughter scoff at this. They quickly change their minds one night, when they find Prabhat dressed as a groom, getting ready to marry a reincarnated gypsy girl.
