I just got finished with a new cigar ashtray design and I thought I would make a video showing how I made it. This design had a couple firsts for me. It was my first project working with elm, my first natural edge cigar ashtray and also my first attempt making deeper grooves for the cigar rests. I was really pleased with the finished product. Having a deeper and wider cigar rest compared to my previous designs really allows for a better fit for a wider variety of cigars. I have to say this was a fun woodworking project and it would be the perfect gift for someone who enjoys cigars with friends. This is by no means the only way to make a natural edge ashtray, just the way I chose to with the tools/experience available to me. Feel free to adjust to your own building style.
