Manjri Asnare-Kelkar sings a Tappa in Raag Kafi and is accompanied by Gurdain Rayatt (tabla) and Chinmay Kolhatkar (harmonium).

Born into a family of Maharashtra musicians, Asanare started learning vocal music aged six, first under MT Mhaiskar and later with MS Kanetkar of the Jaipur gharana. She excelled academically too, receiving a classical music scholarship at university. Her approach is methodical, as is typical for her Jaipur-Atrauli gharana, and often imbued with rhythmic strength - perhaps influenced by her training in kathak dance, and by growing up around her tabla-playing father. Today she goes from strength to strength, exploring rare ragas alongside popular classics.
