One of the biggest challenges of being in the healthcare industry is dealing with insurance companies. As a provider, this is a challenge trying to get paid. On the patient side, the challenge is understanding all the confusing insurance terminology.

So, I made this video to help those dealing with insurance to understand the terms used and what they are actually paying.

Copay, Co-Insurance, and Deductible are terms that are used frequently in healthcare, but unfortunately, they are constantly misused.

The biggest thing to remember is that with Physical Therapy, you have to meet your deductible before the insurance pays anything toward your care. So, if you have a high deductible, you are pretty much a self pay patient.

One of the biggest problems is insurance companies make things complex on purpose so that the confusion saves them money by people not getting the care they need. There has got to be a better system for healthcare coverage, but unfortunately, this is what we are stuck with.

Recently, at Align Therapy, we have been adjusting which insurances we are willing to accept because of the difficulty in dealing with some of those insurance companies. Stay tuned and subscribe to the channel to hear an explanation of why and how we have changed our insurance policies.

Thanks for watching!
