VN24 - 10/06/2021 - Hagen / Germany - On the A1 freeway near Hagen, a truck collided with the end of a traffic jam and pushed the truck in front of it onto another tractor-trailer. Around 15:00 o'clock a traffic jam had formed between the junctions Volmarstein and Hagen-West in driving direction Dortmund (northbound). The accident, which had serious consequences, occurred precisely at the Funckenhausen rest area. The traffic could be led after the rescue work, to which also a rescue helicopter on the roadway had landed, single-lane over exactly this parking lot past the accident place. The 30-year-old driver of the truck and trailer, which was loaded with postal packages, was seriously but not life-threateningly injured and was taken to hospital by ambulance. The rescue work continued well into the evening.
