Hoegeng is a police officer with the rank of Police General (ret.) who served during the New Order period from 1968-1971. As a police officer, Hoegeng has a firm, clean, honest and professional personality when carrying out his duties.
Even the former 4th president of the Republic of Indonesia, Gus Dur, once praised Hoegeng's honesty. Gus Dur said that there are only 3 honest police in this country, namely the speed bump, the police statue and Hoegeng.
However, Hoegeng was one of the shortest people to serve as National Police Chief from 1968 to 1971.
