Part 1 - 'Into Verity' - A Vision of Poets by E.B Browning.
This is a spontaneous, first time (under a morning-star) reading of this Epic Poem! I felt to read it out loud to help me discover its terrain. I Hope you will also enjoy discovering this rich and epic work full of magic and mesmerising images. Headphones are recommended and a quiet reflective place. Synopsis of Part One (ends at the words: ‘Into Verity'.)
The Poet... main character of the poem... cannot sleep and sets instead a different course and arrives in a world where he meets his Angel who says she has come forth to crown all Poet's with their worth. He cannot quite believe this possible, due to the state of the world, and queries her: "To their worth ? Beauty in the mind – Leaves the hearth cold, –– and love-refined ambitions make the world unkind." But she is firm in her mission and ability - and takes him onward into a journey to free his spirit 'into verity'.
