Decided to do a night hike at one of my favorite places! Met the owner of the dog I will be watching for the weekend. It had just rained, not sure what species come out in the rain but you and I will find out. There are always crabs around and mozzies of course. Found a dead snake, does that count? I admire the spiders that hide in leaves, any idea what species they are? Found a giant huntsman spider which was so cool to see in real life. Also the bandicoots were running around munchin. Seen a beautiful spectacled flying fox. They are such interesting creatures, they remind me of puppies. Okay please dont laugh at my delusional side. I thought it was a possum... it was just a leaf lol. Then found a new species for the list, a spotted python. It was much smaller than I expected, I triple checked the species before I got close to it. Pythons have heat sensing pits by their nostril which is an indication of its species. I did not mean to get bit though. Please don't come at me in the comments. Overall a beautiful night hike with some awesome critters!
