"Polsat Ident History" made by TR3X Productions, uploaded on 08/08/2024.
Polsat is a Polish free-to-air television channel that was founded by several businessman in late 1992, one of which was Zygmunt Solorz-Żak. Some days after Polsat (then known as PolSat) began its test transmissions on 1st December, the channel officially launched via the Eutelsat II-F3 satellite on 5th December 1992, and it became so popular that it received a license from the National Broadcasting Council to broadcast terrestrially on 5th October 1993, which was finalised in the next year. As the 1990s came to a close, the channel aired its first sitcom (Miodowe Lata - Honey Years) in 1998, and a year earlier, Polsat launched a second channel called Polsat 2 (est. 1st March 1997), which later had a merger with Nasza TV to form TV4 (est. 1st April 2000); that channel was managed by Polskie Media until Polsat took over in 2014. In the first half of the 2000s, Polsat introduced several new logos at various points, each of which was represented with motion graphics on the television channel, and it wasn't until 27th February 2006 when their longest serving logo was introduced to the public, designed by Velvet mediendesign (they also animated most of the 2006-19 idents); this was used by Polsat until August 2021, when Saffron Brand Consultants designed a new logo for them (idents by Luxlotusliner, who also animated the 2019-21 idents). Polsat is managed by Grupa Polsat Plus (Polsat Plus Group), and it is is one of the three main television channels in Poland, along with TVP and TVN). Polsat has over ten sister channels, some of which include Polsat News (est. June 2008) and Polsat Box (Cyfrowy Polsat S.A. - est. Dec. 1999), but this video will only focus on the idents from Polsat, mainly the ones that depict the logo symbol in them (I have included some that don't depict the logo, e.g. Christmas ident from 2003); idents with "reklama - advertisement" or any other text are excluded from this compilation.

This logo history was originally going to be my 50,000 subscriber special video, but since I struggled finding the idents at the time (May), I decided to work on three shorter videos instead. Note the TR3X intro from the three aforementioned videos is present here, except I changed the by-line text since I'm nearly at 52k subscribers now!
Along with the Polsat articles on Logopedia and AVID (Audiovisual Identity Database) being my main sources, I also referenced the well researched Polsat motion graphics compilations by AnalogNoise and BartStar24TV, both of which are on YouTube; they showcase Polsat's main idents as well as advertisement (reklama) and additional animations that aren't shown in my video, so check out their work if you want to (AnalogNoise    • Kompilacja opraw Polsatu V6 (1992-202...   and BartStar24TV    • Polsat - Ultrawiększa kompilacja opra...  ).
