"True Love Ways" is a song written by Buddy Holly and Norman Petty. The song was recorded at Holly's last recording session before his death on February 3, 1959. It was first released as a single in Britain in May 1960 and the following month in the United States. In 1965, Peter and Gordon's version became an international hit. Country singer, Mickey Gilley released a cover version in 1980 that reached No. 1 on the Billboard Magazine Hot Country Singles chart.
