Tung Oil Wood Kitchen Countertops – 1 year review update: We have been using these countertops in the kitchen for one year since they were installed. They are made out of oak that was cut off of our property. I finished them with The Real Milk Paint Company’s Tung Oil. I used their citrus solvent as well. The tung oil is “It’s all-natural, food safe, and creates a matte finish. FDA approved for food contact.” Overall, the countertops have held up really well. I am very happy with them. The tung oil finish is an easy finish to do yourself. The Real Milk Paint Company has instructions on their website. There is a little bit of maintenance involved with these countertops, which includes adding fresh oil to them periodically. I demonstrate this in the video.
