From the iPhone 14 onwards there is a function that allows contact with emergency services via satellite when you are outside of normal phone service. This could be life saving for rural people and adventurers. Jaz demonstrates its use here. Even if you're model phone doesn't have the function it's a good one to learn because someone else might have a capable phone.
