How to pair a new firestick remote:

First make sure that the battery on your firestick remote are new and placed the right way.

Once you verified the firestick remote batteries are in, go ahead and power on your Amazon Firestick Device.

Once the Amazon Firestick shows the Home Screen, go ahead and grab your firestick remote.

Press and Hold the Home Button for about 20 seconds. A message on the bottom right corner will appear that says your firestick remote has paired.

If it doesn't work the first try, wait 5 seconds, and then try holding the button again for another 20 seconds. It may take up to 10 tries until the Amazon Firestick Remote pairs.
