Despite growing up in a good Christian family and excelling in his studies, Temjen's life took a dark turn as he succumbed to the vices of drugs and alcohol.

Temjen's academic qualifications led him to prestigious jobs, including roles as a radio jockey and positions in multinational companies across metropolitan cities in India. However, his earnings were squandered on his addictions, eventually causing him to quit his job. His health deteriorated, and he nearly lost his life, landing in the hospital. This near-death experience brought Temjen closer to God, and he found freedom from his addictions through his faith in Jesus Christ. After his recovery, he met his wife and got married. Today, he works as an assistant professor in Dimapur and runs the Bethel Youth Ministry, focusing on helping youth overcome the evils of drugs and alcohol.
