This is the Ascend up into the Central Shaft. Please keep in mind, this is very dangerous, as it's an active railroad tunnel. We ventured into it under construction, so the tunnel was shut down to train traffic. There's water constantly leaking from the roof of the cave, even when it's been this dry of a summer. There's no bats when we went in as there's probably nothing for them to eat. There's two tubes that connect the railroad to the central shaft to provide ventilation. We made the ascend up one of them and down the same. It's not for the faint at heart as there's nothing to hold onto except that very old rope. If that breaks your up shits creek. Once in the base of the Central Shaft, there's really nothing to see as it spirals upward probably a thousand feet in complete darkness. There's constantly dripping water on us all the time. You can hear the hum of the massive fans on top of the shaft providing the ventilation. We turned our lights out for a bit and you can't see your hand inches from your face. I added a couple pics at the end of the video...Hope you Enjoy!!!
