Have you ever spent your Sunday potholing in the Pennines? Squeezing through tight cracks, 90 foot drops in the dark, plunging into freezing cold water?

If you can't understand why some would find that fun, maybe this excerpt will explain, as we follow five young people into the winding, dangerous depths of Simpson's Pot. With features ominously named 'The Pit', 'The Storm Pot' and 'The Final Chamber', the cavern system is a challenging one. But our cavers wouldn’t have it any other way.

Excerpt taken from What a Way to Spend a Sunday, originally broadcast Thursday, 26 October 1972, on BBC One.
