As we approach the end of the UK's coarse fishing river season I was inspired to book a special, guided day's angling on the legendary chalk stream that is the River Test.

I love my traditional river fishing and the many species of fish on offer in this fantastic private stretch near Romsey in Hampshire, southern England, so couldn't wait to wet a line. They include roach, dace, chub, grayling, perch and more. And the fishing didn't disappoint, with several new PBs and seven species landed!

It really was my idea of fishing heaven and at the end of this video I urge all keen anglers to investigate whether their own slice of piscatorial paradise might be within reach.
