1 in 10 Canadians experience harms due to substance use today – our friends, family members, neighbours, and co-workers. They are someone's someone. One the most significant barriers to getting treatment is stigma. Stigma has real life consequences that stand in the way of good substance use health. We need to see the person, and remember that the paths to recovery are as unique as each person who walks it.

Scott Hannant, Director of Public Affairs and Communications at the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction, joined Recovery Day Ottawa 2021 on Friday, September 17 to reaffirm the CCSA's partnership with CAPSA Canada and commitment to build on our shared vision to end stigma and discrimination faced by people who use substances. We are committed to substance use health.
