🍏🍎Equivalent fractions are fractions that may look different but represent the same amount or part of a whole. In simple terms, they are different fractions that have the same value.

✏️For example, let's look at the fractions 1/2 and 2/4. Even though the numbers are different, both fractions represent the same amount - half of a whole. This is because when you have 2 out of 4 equal parts, it is the same as having half of something, which is 1 out of 2 equal parts.

✏️To find equivalent fractions, you can multiply or divide both the numerator (top number) and the denominator (bottom number) by the same number. This will give you a new fraction that represents the same amount as the original fraction.

✏️For example, if we have the fraction 2/3 and we want to find an equivalent fraction with a denominator of 6, we can multiply both the numerator and the denominator by 2:

👉2/3 = (2x2)/(3x2) = 4/6

👉So, 2/3 is equivalent to 4/6 because both fractions represent the same amount, just in different ways.

👉Understanding equivalent fractions is important for comparing and adding fractions, and it helps us work with fractions more easily in math.
